4-Benzyloxyphenol, also known as monobenzone and hydroquinone monobenzyl ether (MBEH), is an organic compound with the phenol chemical formula C6H5CH2OC6H4OH. Used as a topical drug for drug-induced depigmentation. It is a colorless solid classified as hydroquinone monobenzyl ethers. Monobenzone is soluble in alcohol, benzene and ether, and almost insoluble in water. Mainly used to improve epidermal blood microcirculation, activate melanocyte regeneration, and enhance immune function. Treats vitiligo.
